My vision is to empower individuals to achieve their full potential through self-awareness, strengths utilisation, and purposeful goal-setting, leading to a life of clarity, confidence, and achievement.
My mission is to make coaching free and accessible to Service Leavers and Veterans
Hello!
I’m Chris Ashcroft, if I told you I would be doing this 10 years years ago I wouldn’t have believed you. It has taught me that if you're willing to become more self aware, be open to developing yourself and consistent in your actions then anything is possible.
After ‘going out for a pint of milk’, I somehow ended I joining the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 2000 as an Airman in the Air Operations branch. Specialising in supporting the RAF’s air defense missions at home and abroad, I monitored and reacted to threats to our airspace. The opportunities for travel, meeting new people, sports, and adventure training were exceptional—I've done it all.
Conflicts in Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe shaped my career. I deployed to Afghanistan twice, supporting the Alliance against terror threats, and to Estonia as a deterrent in the East. I also served as a Senior Air Defense Officer in the Middle East. There were challenging times, and the sacrifices of those who didn’t return will never be forgotten.
In 2017, I felt I was not making the most of my skills and experience. Although I enjoyed my role, I felt unease that my newly found skills were not being used effectively. Possibly a sense of frustration of not being promoted earlier, maybe disillusionment about my medium-term future. I decided to take action and continue my growth, I needed something new, something ambitious, something to re-energise me. I decided I needed a change for the better so I applied to become an RAF Officer to leverage my skills further. Effectively remaining in-service I transitioned from the ‘shop-floor’ to office, meticulously planning a 12-month path to pass the 6-month RAF Officer course.
Advancing through the ranks emphasised leadership and management training, pivotal in shaping my leadership style. Naturally gravitating towards coaching, I pursued my first coaching qualification, a level 5 Diploma from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). This led me to support Air Operations trainees through their professional challenges with one-to-one coaching—I was hooked; coaching was my calling.
I was extremely proud of myself for pushing myself and giving it a shot. Learning from experienced colleagues was crucial. Passing was a personal triumph. You need to live your life by no regrets.
Working alongside some great people, I have friends for life. Looking back, I learnt so much about myself, including my strengths and weaknesses, relationships, teamwork and listening to my colleagues. If I did it again, I wouldn’t change a thing.
After spending 23 years in the Royal Air Force I felt that I had ‘ticked all of the boxes’ and each day was a step away from my dreams. I knew I had to follow my calling. If I didn’t do it then I would’ve gone stale and would have ended up in role that wasn’t in alignment with who I am, where my skills were and what I was passionate about.
After spending the past 18 months further building my coaching credentials and skill set, I’m now focused on helping others navigate their personal and professional challenges. My goal is to guide them toward greater clarity, confidence, and success in achieving their goals.
Do you want to break from the norm and try something new? You may have some nagging questions on what life may be like on the other side. You may be feeling concerned that you will not make the most of your skills and experience, and unable to follow your passions. Is the opportunity to make the most of your potential slowly slipping away?
I hear you, as I’ve been there, and I want to help you so you can unleash your potential. It’s never too late to transform yourself, your career and take back control.
Having recently transitioned from military service, I too felt concern at first however, spending time to truly understand myself, my strengths, my values, my passions, I was able to plan effectively in my own time. I became excited to what the future would look like, how confident I was going to be, how much control I was going to take back and how a new career should be an exciting moment worth looking forward to.
I will help you understand your worth, your strengths, how you can shine in a place that makes you happy, in a role that makes the most of your skills and interests. The skills and experiences you have learnt will not be wasted, in fact they will be used effectively to help you plan your next mission.
I have developed a 3-point plan to help you achieve whatever you want.
This means:
• You can stop being just a number
• You can stop feeling like you’re going stale.
• You can stop feeling frustrated with the promotion board results.
By following my 3-step plan with me, I can help you get to your destination.
You will gain clarity on your next steps, confidence that you have the ability to get there and a sense of achievement once you’ve got to your destination.
Take back control, achieve the work life balance that you deserve. Renew You
Please reach out, it would great to meet you.
